Ecocentral - Transport, Travel & Tourism

Transport and travel accounts for a large proportion of most people’s carbon footprint, so it is an important aspect of your life to consider. I found that over half my footprint came from travelling, with the couple of short flights I took vying with my full year’s driving as my worst carbon offence. Considering I walk to work, it is surprising how much driving contributes to my carbon sins: The Drive of Shame.

The articles below focus on various transport and holiday options, which hopefully make some sense. Don’t forget walking as an option – it is often the most enjoyable. If you are thinking of getting into the great outdoors, you can check out the weather anywhere on the planet at Metcheck. The Department for Transport have a useful Sustainable Travel section.
