The most common accessories for travelling about involve solar charging or wind-up goods. Radios, torches, cameras, mobile phones, shavers, ipods and even laptops can all be powered this way. There are lots of these sorts of things in the Shop. The wind-up torches, radios etc. work very well as do many of the solar chargers for low energy use. However, some of the solar chargers have problems with slow or incomplete charging, so it is probably best to check out the Forum for comments on the different models available.
There are also quite a few organic, naturally produced alternatives to the normal travelling gear, such as clothes, bags, tents and the like. There are even recycled options. Sativa Bags have a good range of small rucksacks (day packs), La Fuma have a recycled and hemp 40 litre rucksack that looks excellent, and Voltaic Systems make a day pack with built in solar panels for charging cameras etc. There are more bags, wallets etc in the shop.
I lied about the tents, by the way: I could find no reference to eco-friendly tents at all.
Jamble Magazine has an alternative travel kit list that is worth perusing, as well as amusing travel articles and green city guides. Not massively informative, but well worth a visit.
What to do
Stick a toothbrush in your top pocket and leave it at that. Perhaps.
